These edible flower salad is easy to prepare, but when you put it on the table then it is a real eye catcher. A simple vinaigrette adds flavor to the salad.
The recipe for the salad is quite simple, lettuce, edible flowers and a vinaigrette but it looks great. So if you want to serve something different by the next bbq or party this is a great recipe.
Edible flowers are very delicate. They only last very short. And you can (usually) not buy them in the supermarket. But how do you get them? They are ordered least via the Internet. Then they are sent to your home within 1 or 2 days and after they received a 5 day or keep in the refrigerator.
Growing of edible salad is not
Or you grow them yourself. Many seed stores sell a mix for edible flowers. Mind you, that although they are edible, not every sort will be that delicious in taste.
The seeds get into the garden around April-May in a bed without weeds and the flowers will soon appear. Than you can pick and eat them when you need them, fresher than ever.
Cornflowers with rose
This time I opted for a combination of cornflowers with rose petals, because I find the color combination great. And both are of great taste. But in my garden I've als got nasturtium, dill, mustard and more flowers which are all edible. And the lettuce comes from my own harvest this morning. It was excellent weather for growing crops lately.
The recipe for the salad is very simple, no more than lettuce, edible flowers and a delicious vinaigrette, but as you can see the effect is great.
When you're entertaining a barbecue or a party and you want to serve something spectacular this is a good and tasty recipe.
It's a good taste!
