Basil a kitchen herb that I use regularly in Italian cuisine and most of the times in combination with tomatoes. But did you know that basil is a great combination with strawberries. The flavors complement each other very well.
This smoothie, that I made this morning when I had very little time, combined the flavours of the the sweet and sour strawberry, spicy basil, creamy yogurt and sweet banana. A quick breakfast you can drink within 5 minutes. Delicious with great taste and healthy.
- you’d rather not add yogurt (because of a lactose allergy), add soy milk.
- you use the entire fruit and not only the juice, the fruit fibers remain in the smoothie.
- you add banana you have to make it and drink it immediately, otherwise the banana will discolor the smoothie and it does not look appetizing.
