To prevent your dishes from sticking on the baking plate or to get spills in your oven, you use baking paper or a baking mat. What is the difference between these two? And how do I use them? I will explain it briefly.
You can almost always use baking paper. You keep your oven and baking tins clean this way. But the disadvantage of baking paper is that you have to throw it away after one or a few times. In this way a lot of baking paper is thrown away through a year time. That does not mean that I always use baking paper for very specific things.
For example, when coating a spring form, because you then have to cut out a special form or other baking tin. And if I know it can really splash.
This baking paper is a nice baking paper because you can cut it to size and you do not have to use a whole sheet immediately.
But as I said, in most cases I use a silicone baking mat. I have different types and sizes, so that they always fit in my baking trays. But I also have special baking mats. For example when I make macarons or when I make a cake and need measurements. Super handy because then I use this baking mat.
A baking mat has got many advantages because they are easy to keep clean and you can use them often. So very environmentally friendly.
