A good set of pans is indispensable in every kitchen. But what should the pan set look like? That is very dependent on your household. Are you with 1, 2, 4 or more people. Large eaters, Vega, vegan or meat. All things that you take into account.
1 or 2 person households
1 or 2 person households often need just 3 quart pot / pan for spaghetti, potatoes and other space users. A 0.5 quart saucepan for cooking vegetables or boiling an egg is a welcome addition. And of course one or two good frying pans for frying meat, fish and vegetables. Choose quality pans and you can use them for years.
3-4 or more person households
You need more pans in these households. I would advise you to start with a good pan set and possibly extend it later with a soup pot or stew pot, when in need. And a few frying pans for frying egg, meat, vegetables and so on. Buy a good pan set and you can use it for years.
What are you cooking on?
When buying pans, pay attention to what you are cooking on. Because not every pan is suitable for induction and if you just have an induction plate then that is an annoying purchase. It is also true that when you change your stove it may be that your pans are no longer suitable. When you have cooked on gas your pans will be full (and yes that is after 1 gas cooking only) and you can never use them again on induction.
Other tips ??
And do I have a few other tips? Of course. When you have a dishwasher, check if your pans are dishwasher safe. Pans with a pouring system can be very handy. And what I personally really like is that the handles do not get hot and the lid is made of glass (so I can keep track of what happens in my pan). And a scale on the pan so that I don't necessarily need a measuring cup and therefore have less dish washing.
Of course you are careful with your pans, but sometimes it happens that you have burnt your pan. With this tip you will get it quickly cleaned again.
