While walking around in the dark, you have the feeling that you are being stared at by something or someone. And as you get closer you see flashing eyes. Scary Eyes.
Halloween, as written before, is an evening I like very much, though in the Netherlands it’s not quite that famous as in other countries. I also love to dress the house in style. And I share with you some inspiration and DIY’s.
My inspiration comes a bit of myself and a bit of Pinterest. That’s one of my favorite mediums to gain inspiration. These eyes I found there as well and the bloggers of Rest & Sunshine have placed this idea. Super cool, cheap and easy to make.
Do they work? I’m sure !!! We have tried it in practice! Along with the youngest I have cut and pasted and then we hide them. Our oldest came home with his father from his sport in the dark. He saw them immediately and although he was not scared (he is 13) he thought they were super duper.
So I will scatter this in our garden at Halloween (you are warned). But maybe you want to make them yourself. Hereby the DIY.
DIY Scary eyes – Halloween
DIY Halloween - scary eyes
- toilet rolls
- in glowthe dark sticks
- duct tape
- Take the toilet roll and mark eyes on the rolls with a pencil (on the photo are three great examples).
- Use scissors to cut out the eyes.
- Just before you are going to hide them, take a glow in the dark sticks from the package and bend them very well.
- Put them in the roll, slice the sides with duck tape (so they do not escape) and hide them in the garden (or house).
