A recipe for orange cookies, with a hint of nutmeg and orange. The cookies are easy to make and has a delicious taste. Nice for Dutch King's Day!

Cookies and small sweets
A conventional oven is used. When using a convection oven (with air fan) decrease the temperature wit 30 °F / 20 °C
for example Gran Marnier

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Brush the baking tray with butter.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and nutmeg and stir well with a fork.
In a second bowl, put the butter with the sugar and mix until fluffy (about 3 minutes)
Then add the eggs one by one, while continuing to mix and then whisk in the orange liqueur.
Add the flour and ladle it into the batter with a mixer on low speed.
Divide the candied orange over the batter and mix with a spatula.
On the baking sheet, form an oval cake about 2 cm thick.
Put the plate in the oven and let the cookie become golden brown in about 30 minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack to room temperature.
Cut the cake into pieces (about the size of a matchbox)
