A conventional oven is used. When using a convection oven (with air fan) decrease the temperature wit 30 °F / 20 °C
Preheat the oven to 430 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Chop the basil into thin strips.
Break the cheese into pieces.
Warm a frying pan over low heat and toast the pine nuts until slightly browned (don't leave it out of sight as they tend to burn quickly ).
Place a sheet of puff pastry in front of you.
Top the puff pastry with a slice of bacon.
Spread the basil stripes and cheese on the bacon.
Sprinkle with pine nuts.
Roll the puff pastry. Take the next sheet and repeat the filling and rolling.
Beat the egg and smear the egg with a brush on the outside of the puff pastry.
Cut the puff pastry into beautiful roles (about 1 cm) and place each roll on the baking paper.
Slide the tray into the oven and bake for 20 minutes until the snacks are done.
Instead of Camembert, you can use Brie instead.
Instead of pine nuts and chopped basil you can smear pesto on the pastry. Try this recipe for homemade pesto.
