Instructions
Lavender lemonade
Put the sugar and the lavender in a bowl and rub with your fingertips the lavender through until your sugar smells like lavender.
Add 2 cups of water to a saucepan and bring to the boil.
Add the lavender sugar and stir until it's dissolved.
Turn off the stove and let it stand for 30 minutes.
Sieve the lavender syrup and put it into the refrigerator so it can cool further (at least 30 minutes).
Add the remaining lemon juice and the remaining water with the lavender syrup. Store in the refrigerator until use.
Serving
Just before serving add slices of lemon, lavender, and the ice cubes to your jar.
NOTES
If you like bubbles in your lemonade then add sparkling water instead of plain water.
If you don’t have lavender flowers or you want to vary in lemonade you can also use leaves of violet or roses.
Use unsprayed (lavender) flowers. Ordinary plants from the garden center can contain toxins. Make sure you only harvest flowers if you’re sure they are not sprayed.
