Brussels sprouts
Boil 2 inches (ca. 5 cm) of water in a large pot.
1¼ pound Brussels sprouts
Clean the Brussels sprouts. First, take a thin strip of the bottom. Then you can remove the outer leaves. If you've got huge Brussels sprouts, halve them. Wash the sprouts in a colander.
Add the clean Brussels sprouts to the boiling water and let them cook for 5 minutes.
Drain them in a colander and put them aside.
Bourbon glaze
In a saucepan, add butter, brown sugar, Bourbon, cayenne pepper, and sea salt.
4 tablespoons butter, 4 tablespoons dark brown sugar, 4 tablespoons bourbon, ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper ground, ½ teaspoon sea salt
Bring to a boil on medium heat, then turn the heat low.
Let it simmer, while stirring, for 2 minutes until the sugar is dissolved. Turn off the heat.

NOTES
1. Brussels Sprouts:
The cleaning of the Brussels sprouts will take the most of the preparation time. But you can buy them already cleaned. That way, this recipe will be even easier.
Stir-fry the Brussels sprouts for 2 minutes before adding the Bourbon glaze. That way they will become crispy.
2. Bourbon: Because you cook the Bourbon glaze the alcohol will evaporate, and only the flavor will stick behind. But if you would rather not use alcohol, substitute it with apple juice.3. Storage: You can't store these Brussels sprouts, so make sure you eat all your veggies (but with this recipe, that won't be a problem ;-) ).
