Instructions
Preheat the oven to 440 °F or 390 °F
Mix the garlic with the olive oil in a small bowl.
2 cloves garlic, 4 tablespoons olive oil
Cut the baguette diagonally to about ⅔ depth, without cutting through.

Brush three tablespoons of the garlic oil mixture inside the cuts.
Fill the cuts with tomato and mozzarella slices.

Sprinkle half the basil on top.

Brush the remaining garlic oil over the bread and season with salt and pepper.

Wrap the baguette in aluminum foil.
Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven, take off the foil, and sprinkle with the rest of the basil.

1. Can I prepare this Caprese baguette in advance? Yes, assemble it earlier in the day, wrap it in foil, and keep it in the fridge. Bake just before serving.2. Can I use dried basil? Fresh is better, but dried works too. Use 1 teaspoon: half before baking and half after.3. Variations
