2.2lbstomatoes quartered
4cupsbeef broth
4½cupssieved tomatoesPassata

Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large pan. Add the onion and sage. Cook for 3 minutes on low heat.

Add the fresh tomatoes. Put the lid on the pan and let it steam for 2 minutes.

Pour in the broth and bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes.
4 cups beef broth
Take the soup from the heat. Blend everything until smooth.
Push the soup through a sieve to remove the skins and seeds.
Pour the smooth soup back into the pan.
Add the sieved tomatoes, crispy bacon, kecap, and sugar. Stir well.

Let it cook for 5 more minutes. Taste and add salt or pepper if needed.

Add the small meatballs and let them cook in the soup for 15 minutes.

1. Can I use canned tomatoes instead of fresh ones? Yes! Use peeled or crushed canned tomatoes. You can skip the blending step if you like.2. What if I don’t have sage? Use thyme or basil instead. It changes the flavor a bit but still tastes great.3. Storage
