3tablespoonsconfectioners sugar
8sprigsfresh mint leaves
1½cuprum

Instructions
Cut the melons into a total of 16 wedges. Remove the skin and seeds. Place the melon pieces in a big bowl.
2 galia melon
In a blender, add the lime juice, zest, sugar, mint leaves, rum, and sparkling water. Blend until the mint is finely chopped and the mix is light green.
6 limes, ¼ teaspoon lime zest, 3 tablespoons confectioners sugar, 8 sprigs fresh mint leaves, 1½ cup rum
Pour the marinade over the melon slices. Cover the bowl and put it in the fridge. Let it sit for at least 1 hour.
Remove the bowl from the fridge. Gently pat the melon slices with kitchen paper to prevent them from dipping too much. Stick a skewer into each wedge.
Place the skewers on a large plate and serve them cold.
NOTES
1. Can I make these without alcohol? Yes! Just swap the rum for lime-flavored Sprite or 7-Up. This way, they're kid-friendly.2. How long should the melon marinate? At least one hour. Overnight is even better if you want a stronger flavor.3. What can I do with leftover marinade? Add ice, more soda, or a splash of extra rum—and turn it into a summer cocktail.4. Storage
Fridge: Marinate the melon up to 24 hours in advance. Keep it covered.
Assembled skewers: Store in the refrigerator for up to six hours.
