NOTES
1. Tips If you want to spread the strawberry jam more easily, warm it up and let it cool slightly before applying it to the mascarpone layer.2. Substitutes
Strawberries: Can also be replaced with raspberries.
Ladyfingers: can be replaced with amaretti biscuits, Biscoff cookies, or shortbread.
3. Variations
Chocolate: If you can't live without chocolate, divide some grated dark chocolate between the cream layers.
Nuts: Also a delicious idea, chop some pistachios or walnuts and sprinkle this over the tiramisu for a nutty taste.
Alcohol: If you want to provide the dessert with some alcohol, replace the apple juice with amaretto for a subtle almond flavor.
4. Storage
Prepare in advance: You can prepare the strawberry tiramisu a day in advance. Make the strawberry tiramisu, but don't garnish it with strawberry slices and meringue. Do this before serving it, so it looks nice and fresh.
Refrigerator: Cover the strawberry tiramisu and keep it in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Freezer: You can freeze tiramisu, but the flavors will substitute. Remove the topping from the tiramisu (that is not well frozen). Wrap the dish (if frozen) in two layers of plastic wrap. Store in the freezer for up to two months. Let thaw in the refrigerator and garnish with fresh strawberry slices and meringue.
