Strawberry Tiramisu without Alcohol: A Fruity and Tempting Treat
I was looking for an idea for a delicious dessert on my blog for my spring dinner party. It was nice outside, and I wanted something to match the weather. And, of course, easy and quick to assemble, so I could enjoy the sun again.
My eye fell on the chocolate tiramisu, and although that is an absolute favorite here, I wanted something with a more summer feeling. And I thought I could probably also make a strawberry variant. The summer kings are in season now for a reason.
And to make this tiramisu for everyone, I left out the raw egg and alcohol and even the coffee from the traditional tiramisu.
And when I took the bowl out of the fridge, the result made me very happy; it looked delicious. Decorated with fresh strawberries and crumbled meringue, it's just perfect. Now to put the test team to work, a job they didn't mind at all this time. They all looked happy and asked if there was another bowl in the fridge. Unfortunately for them, but at least the recipe was wholly approved!
What do you need for Strawberry Tiramisu, no alcohol?
You require the following ingredients to prepare this Strawberry Tiramisu without Raw Eggs. You can find the correct amounts in the recipe card at the bottom of the blog:
- Mascarpone: A soft and rich cream cheese that makes the tiramisu very creamy. Make sure the mascarpone is at room temperature so it mixes better.
- Strawberries: Use fresh strawberries and wash them before removing the crown (otherwise, they will absorb all the water, which is not good).
- Sugar: For sweetening the cream layer.
- Vanilla sugar: Provides a hint of vanilla. You can also use the seed from a vanilla pod. Cut open the pod and scrape the vanilla seeds out with the back of a spoon.
- Apple juice: Tasty and sweet juice is used to soak the ladyfingers.
- Ladyfingers: Ladyfingers are a type of biscuit with an elongated shape and an airy texture. They have a subtle sweet taste and are made from flour, sugar, and eggs. Ladyfingers are versatile and can be used in desserts such as tiramisu.
- Strawberry jam: It gives a fruity layer between the ladyfingers. It enhances the strawberry flavor.
- Cream: Use heavy cream, which you can whip. This makes the tiramisu airy.
- Meringue: You can crumble these meringues over the tiramisu and give a delicious crunch with every bite.
How to prepare Quick Tiramisu with Strawberries
You can find a printable recipe with a step-by-step description at the bottom of this blog.
- Beat the whipped cream with the sugar and vanilla sugar until stiff. Stir in the mascarpone. Divide half of the mascarpone over the ladyfingers.
- Spoon half of the strawberry jam on top and spread it over the cream layer. Place a second layer of ladyfingers over the jam.
- Mix the other half of the strawberry jam with the cream and divide it over the sponge fingers.
- Cut the strawberries into slices and top the cream with this. Grab some meringues and crumble them over the tiramisu. Put everything in the fridge for at least an hour.
Tips, Substitutions, and Variations
- If you want to spread the strawberry jam more easily, warm it up and let it cool slightly before applying it to the mascarpone layer.
- Strawberries: Can also be replaced with raspberries.
- Ladyfingers: can be replaced with amaretti biscuits, Biscoff cookies, or shortbread.
- Chocolate: If you can't live without chocolate, divide some grated dark chocolate between the cream layers.
- Nuts: Also a great idea to chop some pistachios or walnuts and sprinkle this over the tiramisu for a nutty taste.
- Still alcohol: If you want to provide the dessert with some alcohol, replace the apple juice with amaretto for a subtle almond flavor.
Yes, this is a good choice for a dessert when children are eating it, as well as for pregnant women and the elderly.
