Mix the ketchup, kecap, honey, sugar, mustard, chili sauce, rice vinegar, and ginger syrup in a large bowl. Beat the ingredients well until the sugar dissolves and the flavors are well mixed. Set this sauce mixture aside so that the flavors can soak in.
4 tablespoons tomato ketchup, 4 tablespoons Kecap Manis, 3 tablespoons honey, ¼ cup dark brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon sweet chili sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons ginger syrup
Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium heat. Add the squeezed garlic and fry briefly, about 30 seconds, until it starts to smell but does not brown.

Add the chicken pieces and fry until brown, about 6–8 minutes. Make sure the chicken is almost done.

Pour the sauce over the chicken in the pan. Stir everything well so that the sauce covers all the chicken pieces. Reduce the heat slightly and let the chicken simmer gently. Keep stirring regularly, so the sauce slowly thickens, forming a sticky, shiny layer on the chicken. This takes about 10–15 minutes.
Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for a while until it thickens. Keep stirring occasionally until the sauce becomes nice and thick and sticky.
Scoop the sticky chicken onto a serving dish and sprinkle with the spring onion and sesame seeds. For a complete meal, serve the chicken with white or brown rice or with a portion of noodles.

Heat a little sesame oil and stir-fry the vegetables briefly on high heat until they are al dente. Mix the vegetables through the sticky chicken in the last 5 minutes of simmering, if necessary.2. Freezer: Pack the chicken in a freezer box or bag and store it in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Reheat: Add three tablespoons of water and heat, while stirring, on medium heat until the sticky chicken is warm again. Add extra water if necessary.
