Ingredients
2tablespoons sunflower oil
1¾oz popcorn kernels
3tablespoons butter
1½tablespoon honey
½cup dark brown sugar
¼teaspoon vanilla extract
¼teaspoon baking soda
1oz white chocolate
Ingredients you need per step are listed below the step in Italic
Instructions
Preheat oven to 320 °F or 280 °F
Put a pan (with lid) containing 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil on the fire and heat until the oil is hot.
2 tablespoons sunflower oil
Add the kernels, turn down the heat, and put the lid on the pan.
1¾ oz popcorn kernels
After about 3 minutes, you hear popping sounds, at first slowly and then faster and faster until they stop. Then, quickly remove the popcorn from the heat. The popcorn is ready.
Put the popcorn in a large bowl and remove the kernels that aren't popped.
Put the honey, butter, and brown sugar in a saucepan and bring, while stirring the mixture, to a boil.
3 tablespoons butter, 1½ tablespoon honey, ½ cup dark brown sugar
Reduce heat to low and simmer while stirring for about 4 minutes.
Remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract first, then the baking soda (the mixture changes color and foams a bit), stirring well.
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon baking soda
Pour the caramel over the popcorn and mix well so that all the popcorn is coated.
Spread the popcorn on the baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes in the oven.
Put back in the bowl and scrape white chocolate on the popcorn. Again, mix well and serve!
1 oz white chocolate
NOTES
1. Chocolate: You can also use other types instead of white chocolate. Milk chocolate or dark chocolate.2. Also tasty
Salt: Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt through the caramel
Spicy: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the caramel for a spicy twist. The combination of sweet and spicy is surprising and delicious.
Nuts: Finely chop walnuts, pecan nuts, or pistachios and mix them into the popcorn at the same time as the white chocolate. This way, they stay nice and crispy.
