NOTES
1. Butter: Use unsalted butter for this recipe. If you want a vegan variant, use vegetable margarine, melted coconut oil, or almond butter.2. Brown sugar: The addition of the molasses gives brown sugar a caramel flavor to the granola. Delicious. You can replace it with light-brown sugar or white sugar, but the caramel taste will be less. Or try real maple syrup, honey, or golden syrup. Really delicious.3. Cinnamon: Gives a warm accent to the granola. You can also substitute this with speculaas spice mix or pumpkin pie spice.4. Oatmeal: Unprocessed whole grain oats from the supermarket. The cheapest type will do just fine. Don't use quick-cooked variants or with a flavor for this recipe (you add that flavor yourself).5. Almonds: Gives a crunchy bite to the granola. It is also nice to use walnuts, pecans, cashews, or other unsalted nuts.6. Serve: Serve your granola with Greek yogurt, milk, coconut milk, or coconut yogurt7. Storage
Room temperature: In a sealed airtight container, the granola will keep for up to 2 months.
Freezer: Although the structure changes slightly, it is possible to store granola in the freezer. Place the granola in an airtight box or bag (with as little air as possible) and store it in the freezer for up to three months.
