Easy Homemade Guacamole Recipe with Fresh Lime
Once upon a time, I had a tub of store-bought guacamole. I didn't understand why people liked it until I had homemade guacamole at a Mexican restaurant. That changed everything! Homemade is always better, tastier, and healthier.
The secret? Fresh ingredients. Creamy avocados, fresh tomatoes, a hint of red pepper heat, and a lime touch to balance out the flavors. This dip goes with so many dishes; you can have it on the table in less than 10 minutes.
Preparation
- Mash the avocado flesh with a fork and season with lime.
- Mix well with tomatoes, coriander, chopped shallot, chili, and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and extra lime juice if necessary.

- 2 avocados
- 2 tablespoons lime juice or to taste
- 1 shallot finely chopped
- 1 red chili pepper without seeds, finely chopped
- 1 tomato without seeds, finely chopped
- ½ clove garlic pressed
- ½ oz. fresh coriander finely chopped

- Cut the avocados in half lengthwise up to the pit. Twist the halves apart. Remove the pit and scoop the flesh out of the skin with a spoon.2 avocados
- Place the avocado flesh on a deep plate and mash it with a fork.
- Squeeze about 2 tablespoons of lime juice and pour it over the avocado. This adds flavor and prevents the guacamole from turning brown.2 tablespoons lime juice
