Healthy Milk Shakes
Smoothies are healthy milkshakes, which may be why they are so popular. They contain more fruit, fiber, and usually less sugar.
You make them with milk, yogurt (or maybe ice cream), but just as well with almond milk, rice milk, or, in this case, coconut water. This makes a smoothie adaptable for everyone.

What do you need for Vanilla Pear Smoothie?
You require the following ingredients to prepare this Dairy Free Pear Coconut Water Smoothie. You can find the correct amounts in the recipe card at the bottom of the blog:
- Pears: Remove the skin and core. Conference pears or Doyenné de Comice are very suitable for this.
- Vanilla Extract: For a hint of vanilla flavor. If you can get it, use natural vanilla extract. With this vanilla extract recipe, you can make it yourself (which is much cheaper than a small bottle from the store, and you can use it for a long time).
- Coconut water: This is the clear juice from a young coconut. It consists mainly of water but is packed with nutrients. It tastes like a hint of coconut.
- Mint leaves: This sweet herb gives a cooling effect in your mouth when you drink (or eat) it. This ensures a real taste explosion!

You could store this smoothie, but rather not. The creaminess decreases, and the vitamins deteriorate if you leave it longer. If you have made too much, freeze it in an ice cube tray and store it in the freezer. You don't even have to let it thaw completely. This smoothie is delicious as a slush.
