Lemonade, they love it around here. They also love sodas, but that's something they only drink once in ahwile. That's a luxury, occasionally available and usually not. One of the childeren is an avid water drinker who prefers water over soft drinks, but he is an exception. So when they get their daily drink when they finished school, I pour in a glass of lemonade. And at a party, I make a big jar of lemonade.
What I like is to make the lemonade from scratch with seasonal fruit. And by adding slices of that fruit to the jar, you can immediately see what flavour the lemonade is. In this case, which is not surprising at a birthday in June, I made a whole jar with strawberry lemonade. The strawberries were harvested from the plants in the garden. I harvested a lot of strawberries because the weather was good this year, especially the last few weeks.
In any case, at Coen's Birthday party I made this lemonade, along with the rhubarb ice tea and after the jar was empty, the thirst was quenched. A good thing it was.
