This recipe for chicken and broccoli casserole is easy going. You can make it the day before and finish it the day after (even by older children, who can insert the casserole into the oven).
On Monday, when the children got a lot of activities, a casserole is so easy, so I do not get in trouble with all the taxi rides needed that day. Made in advance with clear instructions to our oldest, when and at how many degrees the oven needs to be on. And he always gets it done on time! And so we have got on those busy Monday still a very healthy meal.
- Drain the bacon on paper towels so they become even crispier and contain less fat.
- If you want to cook the broccoli al dente check after 6 minutes by pricking with a fork. Keep doing every minute until you have the correct doneness.
- This chicken broccoli casserole can be stored for 2 days covered in the refrigerator.
- This casserole can be frozen in an airtight container. You can freeze it for up to 3 months. Let it thaw in the morning and warm for 20 minutes at 255 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
