Dutch saucijzenbroodjes (sausage rolls) are a true favorite at our house. The outside is crispy puff pastry, and the inside is soft, juicy meat with just the right spices. You can make them easily, prepare them ahead, and even freeze them. Super handy if you want something tasty without stress. And believe me—these are much better than the ones from the store!

Homemade Dutch Sausage Rolls
When my kids were little, I always made these sausage rolls for the holidays. At Christmas brunch, Easter morning, or New Year’s Eve—they were always on the table. I still remember how the smell from the oven filled the house. So warm and cozy! I sometimes grabbed one before the guests came because I just couldn’t resist.
The meat is full of flavor, with a little kick from sambal. Wrapped in buttery puff pastry and brushed until golden. They look beautiful and taste even better. You really should try them. Once you make them yourself, you’ll never go back to store-bought ones!
