Are you looking for a quick, fresh, and impressive starter? This Asian-style roast beef salad with crunchy toppings is a hit! With just a few ingredients, you can put something delicious on the table in no time. Ideal as a starter, light lunch, or part of an extensive dinner. It is fresh, a little spicy, and full of flavor.
Quick Roast Beef Appetizer with Soy and Cashews
I love carpaccio! I usually choose the classic beef or salmon carpaccio with honey mustard dressing. But this version with roast beef and an Asian twist? It will be on my menu more often from now on. It is light, tasty, and easy—perfect for a summer evening, a party, or just because you can.
This recipe is so lovely because it can be quickly adapted. For example, make individual plates instead of a large bowl. Add some pomegranate seeds for a fresh bite, or make it spicier with finely chopped chili pepper. And if you want to make it even more festive, add avocado and a handful of mescluns.
What do you need?
What kind of meat do you use as a base?
For this recipe, I use thinly sliced roast beef. It is a lean piece of meat lightly fried on the outside. You can also replace it with beef carpaccio.
What is ginger syrup?
Ginger syrup is a thick, sweet syrup from ginger root and sugar. It has a milder taste than fresh ginger and gives your dressing a subtle, lovely touch.
Preparation
- Making the dressing: Mix the soy sauce, chili sauce, ginger syrup, and lime juice in a bowl. Stir everything well until it is a smooth dressing.
- Arrange the dish: Place the slices of roast beef neatly overlapping on an excellent dish. This ensures an elegant presentation.
- Add the dressing: Pour the dressing evenly over the roast beef.
- Finishing: Sprinkle the spring onion, finely chopped cashew nuts, fried onions, and parsley over the dish. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Once you've finished the salad, you can't store it anymore. The meat discolors quickly when it comes into contact with air. So make this dish before serving it so it stays fresh and beautiful.
