Do you want a delicious summer drink that is creamy and flavorful? You can easily make this creamy strawberry liqueur yourself. The perfect drink for a party, a romantic dinner, or a cocktail party.
Taste this creamy strawberry liqueur for yourself!
I can enjoy a nice cocktail or liqueur that completes your dinner party. And I always try to take into account the season or the occasion. And now that the strawberries are in season, making a special liqueur with them would be fun.
Sweeten the strawberries with some sugar, and add vanilla as an extra seasoning. Then, by sifting it (who wants seeds in their liqueur) and then flavoring it with cream, you get a delicious drink.
You can serve this creamy strawberry liqueur ice-cold as an appetizer with dinner, but it is also delicious as a drink at a party.
What do you need for Strawberry Liqueur, Creamy?
To prepare this Strawberry Cream liqueur, you require the following ingredients. You can find the correct amounts in the recipe card at the bottom of the blog:
- Vodka: Water and Alcohol mix based on rye, potato, or corn. This gives a strong and neutral drink without odor or pronounced taste.
- Strawberries: Use fresh strawberries. Look for beautiful red strawberries with fresh green leaves. The strawberries should be firm and smell sweet. Wash them and remove the crown (in this order. If you first remove the crown, the strawberry will absorb the washing water and become watery)
- Sugar: To sweeten the liqueur and to keep it longer.
- Vanilla Extract: For a hint of vanilla flavor. If you can get it, use natural vanilla extract. With this vanilla extract recipe, you can make it yourself (which is much cheaper than a small bottle from the store, and you can use it for a long time).
- Cream: Gives a creamy taste to the liqueur.
- Milk: Use whole milk to make a fresh liqueur. When you only use cream, the liqueur becomes a bit heavier in texture (but if you like it, do it!)
How to prepare Homemade Strawberry Liqueur
You can find a printable recipe with a step-by-step description at the bottom of this blog.
- Wash the strawberries and remove the crowns. Place the strawberries in the bowl of the food processor and add the sugar. Turn it on until you have a smooth mass.
- Place the cream, milk, vanilla, and strawberry purée in a saucepan and heat while stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Turn off the fire.
- Put a sieve on top of a measuring cup (this is useful if you pour the liqueur into the bottles, and sieve the strawberry cream).
- Pour the Vodka into the strained strawberry cream and mix well. Now put the strawberry liqueur in clean, sterilized bottles and let them taste well in the fridge for at least a day.
Serve ice-cold, with some ice (if you like to add ice, you don't have to).
Tips, Substitutions, and Variations
- Strawberries: You can also use frozen strawberries. Then let them thaw beforehand.
- Also delicious by replacing strawberries with raspberries and peaches.
- Exotic: Replace the milk with coconut milk.
