Halloween Cocktail with Passoa
The first time I served this at a kids-and-parents Halloween get-together, the room was even quieter than a haunted house. Everyone was staring at that red rim with sugar crystals and the worms that seemed to crawl across the glass. Only the chuckles at the table betrayed that it was simply a very festive drink.
And then that first sip: fresh, sweet, sparkling with the sparkling water, with the tropical vibe of the Passoa in the background. You clink your glass against your neighbor's, a child calls for another worm, and you think: yes, Halloween should be like this every year.
And are you looking for even more inspiration? How about a home-brewed witch potion cocktail, a bloody Halloween cosmopolitan, or a Halloween Blues cocktail? All exciting and surprising!

Why This Works
- Spooky look, simple method: Sugar rims, red syrup, and gummy worms add drama to the glass, while all you have to do is dip and pour.
- Passoa for a tropical kick: The Passoa gives a cheerful passion fruit flavor that perfectly complements the sweetness of the syrup and the crunch of the sugar.
- Bubbly and refreshing: The sparkling water makes the cocktail nice and light and sparkling, so it doesn't feel heavy.
- Easily scalable: You can easily make multiple glasses in a row: dip the rims of the glasses, prepare the Passoa and sparkling water, and pour.
What Do You Need for this Halloween Cocktail with Passoa?
The exact amounts are in the recipe card.

- Strawberry Syrup: For the red rim and a sweet touch. Use it for the rim and in a layer for dipping.
- Sugar: Creates a crisp, crystalline rim with a slightly sweet taste.
- Passoa: The base of this cocktail, with a passion fruit flavor and a beautiful deep red color.
- Sparkling water: Lightens the cocktail and adds bubbles.
- Sweet and sour worms: For the "spooky factor," let them hang over the rim.
How to Make a Halloween Cocktail with Passoa?
You can find a printable recipe with a step-by-step description at the bottom of this blog.

- Dip the rim of your cocktail glass in a shallow layer of strawberry syrup. Press the wet rim into a plate with sugar so the edge is fully coated.
- Mix Passoa and pour into the prepared glass.
- Add sparkling water.
- Drop in some gummy worms and hang a few over the rim. Finish with a strawberry candy stick for stirring and serve right away.
Serve this on Halloween night with some bread mummies, Halloween cheese bread, and spider cookies.
Top Tips
- Use two plates: one with syrup and one with sugar, so you can quickly work through multiple glasses.
- Let the rim dry: Set the glasses aside for a few minutes so the sugar rims stick well.
- Extra sweet: Replace (some of) the sparkling water with 7-Up if you like it sweeter.
- Different syrup: Don't have strawberries? Grenadine or raspberry syrup works too.
- Even more exciting: Use black or colored sugar for an extra spooky rim.
- Chill the glasses: Place the glasses in the refrigerator beforehand to keep the cocktail fresh longer.
When to serve this Halloween cocktail
- At the bar while the kids are sorting candy.
- As a welcome drink when your Halloween party guests arrive
- In small glasses as creepy shooters
