Sangria with Licor 43. Made with Prosecco, Licor 43, and Grape juice this drink is all about summer. One of the best Sangria Cocktails, that's refreshing and easy to drink. A party in your glass and a delicious drink for a BBQ or other summer party!
I love, love, love a glass of sangria in the summertime. It's an easy drink, slightly sweet and refreshing. But I found out that what I even love more is when I add some Licor 43 to my white sangria. It is such a delicious combination!
Of course, I tried that one out (for you my blog readers off course, no personal interest ;-)), you'll get a wonderfully sparkling summer drink with a fruity aftertaste but so tasty and full of flavor through the 43. I could drink this every day (but I won't do that ;-)). I would say that this could be this year's summer drink. What do you think?
White sangria with licor 43: a party in your glass and a great drink at any summer cocktail party and BBQ.
American BBQ
This entire week is all about the American BBQ. Yesterday we made a delicious iced tea with vanilla and rose, without alcohol and today we will continue with this fruity cocktail. The rest of the week there will be plenty of delicious dishes on offer that you will certainly want to make at your next BBQ. So keep an eye on the site!
- Grape juice - unsweetened grape juice. If you can get your hands on taking the white grape juice and not the red one. I know it's just a color change, but the white sangria just looks so great.
- Pomegranate, Raspberries, and Strawberries - Every sangria is in need of fruit and for this cocktail, I choose real summer fruits. Hull the strawberries and quarter them. And wash all fruits well before adding.
- Mint - Makes this drink even more refreshing.
- Licor 43 - This Spanish liqueur contains 43 secret ingredients. It's sweet a bit spicy and really delicious.
- Prosecco - This is an Italian sparkling wine that is aromatic, fruity, and crisp. They're fresh and light. Prosecco is also used in Bellini or in a scroppino.
Step 1 - Prep everything
- Hull the strawberries and quarter them.
- Fill a pitcher with ice cubes.
Step 2 - Pour the liquid in
- Add the Licor 43 to the jar.
- Pour the grape juice in.
Step 3 - Add the fruits and mint
- Put the pomegranate seeds into the carafe.
- Add the raspberries.
- And the strawberries.
- Also, put some mint leaves in.
Step 4 - Fill with Prosecco
Fill the pitcher with cold Prosseco. Stir and serve immediately in a large wine glass. TIP: When using a carafe, you can keep it cool by putting the pitcher in a bowl of ice!
Substititutions
- Virgin Sangria - If you want a Sangria mocktail replace the licor 43 with vanilla syrup. The Prosseco can be substituted with Sprite or Sparkling water.
Variations
- Prosecco - You can use Cava instead of Prosecco, a Spanish sparkling wine. Sangria that's served in Catalunya is often served with Cava instead of red wine.
- Licor 43 - You could replace Licor 43 with Amaretto or Grand Marnier. But you'll miss the complex flavor of the Licor 43.
- Summer fruits - You could also use slices of orange, lemon, apple and peach. This way you'll get a more traditional sangria.
- And I've got some delicious variations on my blog, like a white sangria (Sangria Blanca) and Clerico sangria.
Equipment
- Use a to slice the strawberries. This knife is my favorite one and I use it every day!
- This is big enough for serving this sangria. I often use it for serving cocktails and ice tea in summer.
- Serve this sangria in . They're big enough to hold the summer cocktail, ice cubes, and fruit. And they look pretty too.
Storage
- If you want to make it in advance, don't add the ice cubes and prosecco yet. Store in the refrigerator and just before serving add the cubes and fill with Prosecco.
- When it's hot outside keep your pitcher stored in ice to keep it cool.
Normally sangria contains between 8 to 15 % alcohol.
Sangria is typically made of red wine, fruit, liqueur and spirits. In Catalunya Sangria is often made with Cava.
