Easy Air Fryer Doritos Chicken Nuggets Recipe
I don't like store-bought chicken nuggets, but the kids love them, so I make my own nuggets with Parmesan cheese. When I ran out of breadcrumbs, my youngest came up with a brilliant idea: “Let's use Doritos!” We crunched up a bag of Doritos and used that as a breading. What a discovery!
It's so simple. With the air fryer, you can bake them even easier. They get nice and crispy, and everyone loves them!
What do you require?
- Doritos: Choose a flavor you like. We always use Nacho Cheese for extra flavor.
- Chicken Breast: You can also use chicken thigh if you prefer.
- Cornstarch: For a soft bite under the crispy layer.
- Egg: Makes the Doritos crumbs stick well
Preparation
- First, coat the chicken strips in the cornstarch.
- Then, coat them with the beaten egg.
- Crush the Doritos in the bag, add the chicken, and shake the bag, so the chicken is well coated.
- Spray some oil on the chicken and place them in the air fryer. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 °F (180 °C) and turn them halfway through.
