Sometimes a cookbook will attract my attention and I would love to review it for you. Is it really such a nice book and practical as it seems? Today I'll answer these questions for the cookbook Super Starters from David Bez (I've read it in Dutch). Quite a good choice for breakfast recipes are trending. And not only that, after a good breakfast you have enough energy to get through to the day. A book that makes me happy.
After his successful book super salads, David wrote another cookbook, this time with an endless variety in breakfast recipes. Because breakfast is important, and David knows that, so he found it a good time to create and write all his recipes into this book. That's a good choice, when I got my hands on this gem. Nice photo work, simple recipes, but still plenty of variety. The recipes fit generally well in a low-carbohydrate diet, something that nowadays still widely done and has lots of choice for every season. With tips and tricks to make your breakfast vegan and other ideas.
David had taken as a basis that his breakfasts had to be colorful (pleasing to the eye, which is certainly worked well) and they could not contain contain processed products. No packets and pouches and great variety. Because the book is divided into five categories, you can easily find the right recipe. The five chapters are:
- Fruits and vegetables
- Cereals, grains and seeds
The only downside is that there are some ingredients that can be obtained a bit harder than others.
The photos are fresh and beautiful and the recipes are simple, there is not much cooking. At most, you have to soak your oatmeal overnight. An awfully nice book if you're looking for extra inspiration for breakfast.
It's a good taste!
